About Curie
On a mission to enable the next 100 million researchers
New knowledge isn’t just found; it’s synthesized, remixed, and built upon the work of others. Today, that process is fragmented and lonely. We are changing that. We are scientists at heart, but we know the thirst for knowledge isn’t limited to the lab. Whether you’re decoding history, debating philosophy, or analyzing markets, the process is the same: deeply human inquiry.
We are building Curie because it is the tool we wished we had during our own research.
Research Accessibility: From the curious amateur to the Nobel laureate, everyone deserves tools that make complex ideas accessible. We are on a mission to enable the next 100 million researchers, supporting all serious inquiry from the historian in the archive to the legal scholar in the library.
Consumption, Curation, Creation: Today, this workflow is scattered across many apps — you read in one place, take notes in another, and write in a third. Curie unifies this. We don’t just help you consume; we empower you to curate your library and create original insights, closing the loop.
Research Copilot: An AI partner that doesn’t just chat, but helps you map complex arguments, find hidden connections, and generate new hypotheses.
Native Collaboration: Share annotations, fork collections, and build on each other’s research.
We are mapping the world’s knowledge to help every serious thinker find the signal in the noise. Join us in building the infrastructure for the next generation of discovery, for every field of study.
Who We Are
We are a small team of engineers, founded by Filip Victor, who previously built and sold MetaMap, a San Francisco based startup he raised over $100m for. We don’t do hierarchy. We don’t do politics. We are builders who are obsessed with science and learning. We are financially independent, self-funded, and answer to no one but ourselves and our users.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for Learning Machines. You don’t just write code; you use it to explore the world. You’re the person who goes down a rabbit hole on a complex topic at 2 AM.
- Independent: You don’t need a manager to tell you what to do.
- Obsessive: You deeply care about the craft. Usually this means going deep to understand the root cause, rather than patching the symptoms.
- User-Builders: You must love the product. If you don’t use Curie to learn, you can’t build Curie for others.
We aren’t hiring employees; we are looking for partners. We seek engineers who are polymaths at heart — people who are as comfortable discussing philosophy, economics or any other complex field over a meal as they are optimizing database queries. If you are tired of corporate ladders and want to build a tool you will use for the rest of your life, let’s talk.
