What RSS is
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is the open standard that lets any website publish its updates as a structured feed, so any reader on any platform can subscribe without an algorithm choosing what to show. Almost every blog, magazine, newsletter, and podcast supports it: Substack, Medium, WordPress, Ghost, and every major news site. It’s the pipeline that lets Curie index the open web at scale and make it searchable next to scientific papers. Without RSS, “the open web” would mostly mean Google.
What’s in (and what’s not)
There’s no canonical list of every good blog on the internet, and most of what’s out there isn’t worth indexing. So our goal isn’t 100% coverage. It’s broad coverage of high-quality writing in the topics we support: science writing, technology essays, philosophy, economics, policy, and growing.
Strongest today: the categories above, deepest in science and adjacent fields.
Thinnest today: regional magazines, foreign-language newsletters, several humanities categories, and a long tail of niche professional blogs.
We’re filling these in continuously, measured against an internal coverage benchmark, the same evidence-backed evaluation any serious search engine uses, applied to a corpus that’s never really been measured this way before.

The remaining gap closes faster with your help. We don’t want to curate this library alone.
- Add a feed. See an author or publication we’re missing? Paste the feed URL, or just the site’s homepage and we’ll find it, and it joins the library.
- Report a feed. See something low-quality, abandoned, or off-topic in your results? Report it and we’ll take a look.
- Follow what you already read. Every blog, newsletter, and magazine you subscribe to elsewhere publishes a feed. Bring the ones you care about across, one paste at a time.
A research-grade public library is too much work for any single team. We want you to feel responsible for it alongside us. Wikipedia has shown that’s exactly the right model.
