Why we started here

From Curie’s earliest release, arXiv preprints were searchable and saveable inside Curie — the first outside corpus to sit alongside the papers you uploaded and the sources you pulled in over RSS. It’s open, it’s well-organized, and it’s where many of our first users already read. A natural place to begin.

The rest of the record

ArXiv was never the whole literature. The expansion to the rest of academic literature — PubMed, CrossRef-registered journals, the major preprint servers, the Microsoft Academic Graph legacy (now known as OpenAlex), and institutional repositories — will all land soon.
