Where the thinking belongs

Research writing rarely starts with a blank page. It grows from papers, questions, and ideas collected over time. That work can now stay in Curie: write beside your sources, and keep each note in the same spaces as the rest of your research.

Until now that draft usually lived somewhere else — Notion, Google Docs, Overleaf, Obsidian — while the papers that earned each claim sat in the library. Notes close that gap. A quote, a half-formed claim, and the work that prompted it can stay attached.

Small on purpose

What ships today is deliberately simple: markdown, slash-commands, callouts, tables, code blocks, and versions that save themselves as you go. Enough to start writing where you read. Ahead, we want notes you can fork and review like peer review, and eventually hold computation beside the prose — a writer research arguments can live in for years. That work begins here, without the fanfare.
